Our History

The first Little Big Horn Associates Newsletter was published in January, 1967. In 1979, following the newsletter’s success, the Little Big Horn Associates became a non-profit corporation under Ohio state law. Today, we boast nearly 500 members from every state in the USA and approximately six foreign countries.

The LBHA is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. The organization is supported entirely by its volunteer board, officers, and passionate members.

LBHA members promote high standards of scholarship and instruction in studies associated with George Armstrong Custer and the The Battle of the Little Big Horn. The LBHA facilitates communication among scholars through meetings and publications. Membership includes subscriptions to the Newsletter and Research Review
